The Harlem Renaissance and Paris

Here is an Mp3 of a lecture about the connection and influence of the Harlem Rennaisance and that time period on Paris.  This lecture is given by Dr. Richard A  Long, he is a  Dr. Richard A. Long is a celebrated scholar of literature, culture, and the arts and Haygood Professor Emeritus of Interdisciplinary Studies at Emory University. I know from reading the autobiographies of Langston Hughes and ADA “Bricktop” Smith of the black entertainers (singers, dancers and Musicians) who were all of the rage during the that time period. Also many American black musicians such Sidney Bechet and Josephine Baker would move to France to live in part because the more tolerant and respectful attitude towards African American performers.
